Tecnologia desde 1995StoreThe NerdMy storyTalk to the Nerd ↗
From 1 KB of memory to artificial intelligence.
My journey with technology began when computers had rubber keyboards, programs came on cassette tapes, and the internet had not yet learned how to make noise. More than four decades later, I am still curious. Now I have a Nerd to help me out.

In the early 1980s, a curious kid discovered the Sinclair ZX81, Apple II+ and Exato CCE. In 1984, my father opened a computer business in the countryside of São Paulo state, and computers became part of everyday life. Then came XT PCs from Taiwan. Memory was tiny; curiosity was limitless.
It was not a straight line. Thankfully. The best stories rarely come with an instruction manual.
It all started in the 1980s: Sinclair ZX81, Apple II+, CCE Exato, BASIC, floppy disks and the first XT PCs from Taiwan. Today, waiting ten seconds for a computer to boot feels outrageous. Back then, waiting was part of the process — and so was hoping the cassette tape would load.
The 1990s brought PC/AT, 286, 386, 486, Pentium, BBS, Novell NetWare, Windows NT and the dawn of commercial internet. Learning was the daily routine; discovering a new incompatibility was almost a hobby.
In RUKAM was founded in 1995. Over the following decades came IBM, Compaq, Dell and HPE servers, storage, switches, enterprise networking, virtualization and environments where “it doesn’t work” is merely the beginning of the conversation.
In 2021, e-commerce brought our enterprise hardware expertise to customers across Brazil. It also reinforced a belief: good used equipment, inspected and tested, still has a lot of work left to do. That is the essence of RUKAM Certified.
Then, in 2026, the Nerd was born. The goal was not to build a robot that knew everything. It was to bring together AI, documentation, the catalog and real-world experience to answer the most important question in computing: “Will this actually work?”
I started with 1 KB of memory. Today I work with artificial intelligence. And I am still trying to understand why some things do not work.
