IntroductionLenovo ThinkSystem DE2000H is a low-cost, entry-level hybrid storage system designed to deliver performance, simplicity, capacity, security, and high availability for small and large businesses. It offers enterprise-class storage management capabilities with a wide range of host connectivity options, flexible drive configurations, and enhanced data management capabilities. ThinkSystem DE2000H is perfect for small offices and remote offices and branch offices of large enterprises running a wide range of workloads, including big data and analytics, video surveillance, technical computing, backup and recovery, and other I/O-intensive storage applications. ThinkSystem DE2000H models are available in a 2U rack form factor with 24 small form factor drives (2.5-inch SFF) (2U24 SFF) or 12 large form factor drives (3.5-inch LFF) (2U12 LFF) and include two controllers, each with 8 GB of memory for a total of 16 GB of the system. The host interface cards provide 12 Gb SAS, 10/25 Gb iSCSI, or 8/16/32 Gb FC connections.The ThinkSystem DE2000H Storage Array can scale to up to 96 drives by connecting the Lenovo ThinkSystem DE120S 2U12 and DE240S 2U24 SFF expansion enclosures. It also offers flexible drive configurations with a choice of 2.5-inch (SFF) and 3.5-inch (LFF) form factors, 10K rpm SAS and 7.2K rpm NL SAS hard disk drives (HDDs), and SAS solid-state drives (SSD).
The ThinkSystem DE2000H scales up to 1.47 PB of raw storage capacity. ThinkSystem DE2000H offers block storage connectivity with support for 10/25Gb SFP28, 8/16/32Gb FC, or 12Gb SAS or 1/10Gb RJ-45 iSCSI technologies.

ThinkSystem DE2000H supports the full range of data storage requirements, from highly utilized applications to high-capacity, low-usage applications.
The following drives are supported in 2U24 SFF enclosures:• Capacity-optimized SSDs (1 drive write per day [DWD]): 3.84 TB, 7.68 TB, and 15.36 TB• High-performance SSDs (3 DWD): 800 GB, 1.6 TB• High-performance auto-encrypting FIPS SSDs (3 DWD): 1.6 TB• Performance-optimized enterprise-class HDDs: 1.2TB and 1.8TB 10K rpm• Self-encrypting, performance-optimized enterprise-class FIPS HDDs: 1.8TB 10K rpm
The following drives are supported in 2U12 LFF enclosures:• High-performance SSDs (3 DWD; 2.5" drive in a 3.5" drive tray): 800 GB• FIPS SSDs with high-performance auto-encryption (3 DWD; 2.5" drive in a 3.5" drive tray): 1.6 TB• High-capacity, archival-class nearline HDDs: 4 TB, 8 TB, 10 TB, 12 TB, and 16 TB 7.2K rpm• FIPS HDDs with high-capacity near-linear encryption and archive class: 6 TB and 10 TB 7.2K rpm
All units are double-port and hot-swappable. Drives of the same form factor can be mixed in the appropriate cabinet, which provides flexibility to meet performance and capacity needs in a single cabinet. Up to three 2U expansion enclosures (ThinkSystem DE240S 2U24 SFF or ThinkSystem DE120S 2U12 LFF or a combination of the ThinkSystem DE240S and DE120S) are supported by a single ThinkSystem DE2000H system. Customers can mix 2U24 SFF and 2U12 LFF expansion enclosures behind a 2U24 SFF or 2U12 LFF controller enclosure. This configuration provides additional flexibility to mix 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives in a single system. More expansion units and enclosures are designed to be added dynamically, with virtually no downtime, which helps respond quickly and seamlessly to growing capacity demands.
ThinkSystem DE2000H delivers high levels of system and data availability with the following technologies:• Active dual-controller modules with automatic load balancing and failover• Mirrored data cache with flash backup (battery-to-flash de-scaling)• Dual-port SAS HDDs and SSDs with automatic drive fault detection and rebuild with global spare parts• Redundant hardware components, Hot-swappable and customer-replaceable including SFP/SFP+ transceivers, I/O controllers and modules, power supplies, and drives• Automated path failover support for the data path between the host and drives with multipath software• Non-disruptive drive and controller firmware updatesComponents and connectors
