O Cisco Nexus® 3232C The switch is a dense, low-latency, high-performance, energy-efficient 100 Gbps switch designed for data centers. This compact 1-rack-unit (1RU) model provides wire-rate Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching on all ports with 450 ns latency. It is part of the Cisco Nexus 3200 platform and runs industry-leading Cisco® NX-OS Software. , providing customers with comprehensive and widely deployed features and functions. Extensive programmability features help organizations run today's applications while preparing them for demanding and constantly changing application needs such as big data, cloud, and virtualization. The Cisco Nexus 3232C supports forward and reverse airflow schemes (port-side exhaust and intake) with AC and DC power inputs.
The Cisco Nexus 3232C (Figure 1) is a Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable (QSFP) switch with 32 QSFP28 ports. Each QSFP28 port can operate at 10, 25, 40, 50, and 100 Gbps, up to a maximum of 128 25 Gbps ports.

The Cisco Nexus 3232C has 32 QSFP28 ports. QSFP28 technology enables a smooth transition from 40 to 100 Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure in data centers. Each QSFP28 port on the Cisco Nexus 3232C can operate in native 100 Gigabit Ethernet mode or 4 x 25 Gigabit Ethernet mode. The switch supports both fiber and copper cabling solutions for these modes.
For low-cost cabling, copper-based 40 Gbps Twinax cables can be used, while short-range optical transceivers are suitable for longer reaches. Connectivity can be established from QSFP28 ports to switches or 10 Gigabit Ethernet hosts using a breakout cable with a QSFP+ (Enhanced QSFP+) transceiver at one end and four SFP+ transceivers at the other. Similar capability can be achieved with fiber optics by using QSFP+ SR4 transceivers at both ends and third-party MPO-to-LC fiber breakout cables. Table 1 lists the supported transceiver types.
